Who am I? Where do I live? Where am I going?
My favourite things... My Family My School

Who am I?

I am an 18 year-old teenager living with my family in South Africa. I have recently finished Matric and am now enrolled in Rhodes University studying Business Science.

Where do I live?

I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. It is a very nice country and I am happy to live here. While I am at University I am staying in Stanley-Kidd House in Grahamstown.

Where am I going?

Now that I've finsinshed Matric I will be studying at University. I am currently interested in Information Systems and Information Technology. I am not the greatest technical person but I believe I have a flair for the creative and publishing side of things (Web Publishing/Intranet Information Management?).

My favourite things...

I like to read Fantasy Books, (my favourite authors are Raymond E. Feist, author of among other things, the Riftwar Saga, and David Eddings, who has written many great books, my favourite being The Belgariad, The Mallorean and Belgarath the Sorceror.)

I also enjoy playing on computers. My first computer was a BBC Micro. Since then I have moved from Dos on a 286 to Windows 95 on a Pentium. I have a fair ability with using and fixing computers and my latest interest has been with Email and the Internet. I have created all these pages. I taught myself HTML by volunteering to create a page for the School.ZA Organisation. Since then I joined the HTML Writers Guild and have been learning from them.

My favourite meal is Roast Beef or Chicken with Roast Potatoes.(The secret is in the gravy!)

I also enjoy going to the Movies or to the Theatre. Some of my favourite movies include Stand by Me, Sleepers, Schindler's List, Radio Flyer, Shawshank Redmeption, Shadowlands, ET and many more that I can't remember. Perhaps someday I'll get a complete list of them... :)

I enjoy publishing. While I was in Standard Five to Standard Eight I published my schools' Newspaper, The College Scope, and was involved in the production of both my schools' Magazines.

Another of my favourite things is my church. I am a Catholic and attend St Charles Parish, Victory Park. The Parish Priest there is Fr. I. Fidgeon OMI. I have been an Altar-Server there for a long time. If you are interested in the Catholic Church why not take a visit to The Vatican and find out whats going on there.

My Family

My family moved from England to South Africa when I was very young so most of what I remember is from South Africa. My dad's name is Peter and my mom is Jenny. I have one brother Timothy and a sister Hannah. The rest of my family live overseas in England. At the moment, my Uncle Alan is the only one with an email accout but I am hoping that the rest of the family will get an account so that I can contact them more easily. My brother and sister all attend the same school as I do.

My family has a lot of pets at home. We have our dog Oliver, who is a cross between a Ridgeback and a Bull Mastiff. We found him net to our swimming pool. He was starving and was getting ready to die - we named him after Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist, because he ate so much food. He has been so happy since then that his tail is always wagging.

We also have four cats, Mitzhe, Tessa, Sootie and Snugs. I prefer the cats since they are smaller and are much nicer to cuddle.

Along with the cats we have a varying amount of Rabbits who live with the two Guinea Pigs.

My brother, Timothy, is 16 and is very much involved in Scouting, in fact his troop has their very own Web Page. He represented South Africa at the International Jamboree in Dronten, Holland during 1995. He is in Standard Eight at school. He will be getting his own web page sometime, so watch out for that!

My sister, Hannah, is 13 and is a Girl Guide, she also enjoys camping like my brother. She plays the piano and loves Netball. She is in Std Seven at school.

My mother, Jenny, has just learnt the computer and is teaching herself Microsoft Word for Windows 95. She is getting along very well.

My School

V
IVA SAINTS VIVA!!!

I love my school. <grin>. Although I have now left, my Brother and Sister, attend St Stithians College a wonderful school situated in the middle of Randburg. Saints has recently built a girls school, called the St Stithians Collegiate. My sister goes to the Collegiate and my brother goes to the College. The school offers a lot of exciting activities and opportunities for pupils. All that I can tell you is that it is the greatest school there is.
